The FAQ

What should we wear?

First and foremost, you should be comfortable! Outdoor family portrait sessions - especially with little kids - are fairly active, so expect that the kids may run around and get a little dirty. You may need to sit on the ground and we may do some walking around. Comfort is paramount to make sure that you can relax and be yourself in front of the camera.

What geographical areas do you serve?

Landon, our lead photographer, is available for hire in the Fayetteville, Ft. Bragg, Spring Lake, Lillington, Cameron, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Sanford, Cary, Raleigh, NC Area. Contact us for travel outside of North Carolina.

Can we bring along the family pet?

Sure! As long as your fur-baby is not aggressive and has a good temperament. We do ask that you let us know beforehand so that we're aware. We believe pets are family members too! Let's just make sure they're groomed, well behaved and on a leash. Bring plenty of treats, water and a few chew toys, to be safe.

Should we take photos at our home or meet you somewhere?

This really depends on you. At home photos tend to be less formal and more "real". Kids often loosen up when showing their room or riding their bike, which makes the photos more natural (and can give a sense of who they are, thus making it easier to capture their real smile). Photos at parks or a studio tend to be more formal and less candid (though we still try to run around a bit).

If we do take photos at home - how clean does it need to be?

Pretend a friend or relative is coming over - so pick up excess clutter, but there's no need to hire a cleaning lady or make your home spotless. We personally think that signs of everyday life - toys, books, etc. - add character to the photos. We are trying to keep things "real" after all. That being said, if your child has any toys or books that you hate - please put them away or hide them.

How would you describe your style and approach for a family photo sessions? What photos should we expect from a family shoot?

Natural, spontaneous and above all playful. Every family is different and every session is unique like you. Our goal is to create an emotion-filled photo shoot, emphasizing the magic in your family's lifestyle.

Do you deliver RAW files?

RAW files (the digital negatives) are the format in which photographs are taken. As they are, they can't be used and must be edited to get the common JPG file for printing. Our answer is... nope. Sorry. It is the simplest and most honest answer. Giving away RAW files would not be a good representation of our family lifestyle portfolio and the services we offer.

What happens if it rains?

Approaching the chosen date, we check the weather forecast daily. If rain is expected, we can plan to change the day and reschedule. If it starts raining during the photoshoot, don't worry and trust us! Even rain can be interesting, We find that it has a very intimate feel; which can be used to tell such a sweet, romantic story.

How far in advance should we book?

The sooner, the better! Having adequate prep time ensures that your photo session will go smoothly and that Landon is available for your date. Additionally, this gives us plenty of time to prepare in the case we ever need to reschedule.
